  1. Has anyone ever used anything other than epoxy to add clear to lures? I've noticed lots of people using that but is there anything else to use like createx gloss top coat? Why is epoxy so popular does it not scratch? HELP PLEASE!!!!
  2. I was wondering if anyone uses the Createx Gloss Top-Coat? Is it any good? TIA
  3. What can I use to soak my airbrush parts in with Createx 4008 Airbrush/Spray-Gun Cleaner? I used to use a glass cup, but it required too much restorer to cover the parts. TIA
  4. I have been painting baits for a while now on a small scale using a Pasche Talon (gravity fed) with water based createx paints. I want to start painting lots of baits the same color patterns to sell them. I've noticed some videos online of people doing this and oftentimes the paint container is attached the the bottom of the airbrush. What is the best setup for this? I can definitely see the advantage of not having to constantly put drops of paint in the hopper. Any recommendations on equipment for somone wanting to go from a hobbyist to start painting large scale?
  5. I been painting soft plastic with createx paint and then dipping them in clear. I also have the spike-it paint for plastic. I do not see the advantage of the spike-it paints does anyone have some knowledge of this subject, pros and cons ? The createx is not smearing and when dipped the paint doesn't run or come off.
  6. Hey folks, recently I invested in some airbrushing and lure building equipment. But while painting blanks I've had some troubles with my trout patterns. I prefer to use all one kind of paint (I.E. Createx) to minimize the risk of chemical reactions between paints (that, and brand preference)and I can't figure out a good back color mix. I need a light olive and I need help. Also some advice for making baits look more "lively" wouldn't hurt as well. With best regards, Jon P.

    first paint job

My first attempt at airbrushing. It was done about a year ago using a Badger 150 which I bought with compressor and paint $90. Hate to think what I have invested now!
  9. Learned something I wanted to share. I just posted a picture of a Delta Shiner pattern paint job I did for a friend. Previously I struggled achieving a nice silver side for a baitfish. I used Createx Pearl Silver. When I painted this over white it never really went to silver but I learned from other members that it was much more effective if painted over a black base color. Well that worked but then I ran across Createx Wicked Aluminum and decided to give that a try. Tested everything on a wood dowel first painted the dowel white all the way around and then did black on one side of dowel fading to all white. Then I painted a pearl silver band all the way around for a test and a wicked aluminum all the way around for a test. The wicked aluminum was much more effective in achieving the silvery color like the sides of some baitfish. Got a good silver color over both the white and black test areas. It worked out great on the Delta Shiner pattern I painted and is easier to do.
