  2. I'm looking for a jig vise that can hold heavy jigs. This looks like a vise that can hold heavy jigs. Any one got one? I'm tempted to buy one to tie some heavy saltwater jig from 4 oz to 16 oz. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01LG4PP6W/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=A2NFPA6A0EUMO0&psc=1
  3. Thought I'd share the best/most useful, fly tying bench I ever made. Watch those garage sales for these old boxes. I've made 3 so far, and I plan to buy every one that I can find. Hope you enjoy this as much as I do. https://youtu.be/kN1GkscmOCY
  4. Hello, Recently I had been home sick which lead to lots of free time. Which meant I needed something to do. I found an old notebook with pictures of different flies and jigs. Typically I'd use them with a 3-way swivel (main line, a line drop with a couple sinkers, and lastly the fly). Does anyone else use these things? Typically tipped with a spawn, beads, floats, or a piece of worm. Anyway, I decided to make a video on how I make them. I am not sure if they can be called flies. Does anyone have ideas for other uses? Ways to fish them. Maybe have a small type of weight to turn them into a wet fly.
  5. This is a repost from several other forums I'm active on. Just trying to get as many points of view and ideas as I can. I think. A lot. Too much. I always have a "It'll Happen One Day" project I'm working on, it helps relax me. I'm currently working on plans for a non-profit fishing think tank w/ a research library and workshop/laboratory for children and adults. What I have in mind is a community place for open research, investigation, and discussion of anything. luremaking/flytying to the best way to keep mud minnows, how simple scientific tests such as salinity, temperature, and dissolved oxygen can improve our fishing, re-examining ancient and traditional fishing methods and tools, etc.. What I would like from you guys is any ideas you have. Think of it like you had input into a place in yor community. What Equipment, Materials and Supplies would you want available. What events would you like them to host? Services provided. We're talk a dream place here so lets have fun. Thanks in advance guys and gals. I hope all of you find these cerebral projects such as this as much fun as I do. Maybe one day soon I'll be able to make it a reality.
