Air Brush Help

Recommended Posts

Hi Guys , I have a Badger air brush that I have had for a long time. When I first bought the air brush years ago, I didn't take the time to learn how to use it properly and became discouraged and haven't touched it till now. My question is, what thinning mix is recomended for createx paint and what pressure would be a good starting point? How long a waiting time is required till a second coat can be applied? Thanks, Joe

Hi:

I dont use Createx? (sp), but I use parma and other water based paints. The dry time for them is 15 to 20 minutes between coats with a low humidity.

This fellow has a couple online lessons for air brushing:

Practice on lexan sheet, news print, wood to get the feel of your brush. I use anywhere from 17 - 30 psi.

I use water based paints in my brush for ease of cleaning. Michaels, Walmart and most craft stores sell these water based paints.

The paints I like to use most are made by PARMA: www.parmapse.com

Their faskolor series is used to paint R/C car bodies and have beautiful hues that come thru under light. They can be found at most hobby shops.

Looking through the board though....Several people use createx and like it. I have not used it.
