how to make mojo weights?

Recommended Posts

I use heavy stainless steel wire inserts in mine. I still have afew that stick from time to time but not many. But IMHO, the stiffer the wire you use the better off you are...I use the same size wire in my crankbait weights too..and it works fine for those..a hit or two with some very fine emory cloth will help with the sticking too.....that's my two cents

I watched a friend of mine pouring large egg sinkers that had a through hole in them. When he removed the wire after pouring one, he would take the wire and run back and forth on a bar of hand soap. I asked why he was doing that. The answer was of course to lubricate the rod and prevent it from sticking in the sinker. Just passing on an observation of anothers experience, try it and let us know if it was of help.

I make 100 at a time I put the stainless wires in a plastic cup and spray them with silicone or white lithium grease by the time I get #100 molded the first ones are cool to the touch and ready to pull the wires out. I get a little smoke when molding but they slide right out with no effort
