feldermannLures Posted October 26, 2007 Report Share Posted October 26, 2007 Having trouble w/ my POP molds chipping around the cavities....I make 2 piece molds out of POP, after the mold has hardened enough, i break the 2 pieces apart. Then i put the 2 halves in the oven at 400 degrees and bake them for ~2 hours. the problem im having is they dont last long, some only a couple of pours, the plaster starts cracking or chipping away around the cavities. I tried to epoxy around the edges, that helped some but not much. Any thoughts on what im doing wrong, or is that just he nature of the beast? bassn1 Posted October 27, 2007 Report Share Posted October 27, 2007 Go with the bondo. I can get 50 pours or more before it starts to break down. With a POP mold you run the risk of it exploding.
