3125gage
Hey guys, I have been reading this forum for awhile now and have been making my own jig skirts for a few years now. I have never molded jigs but plan on buying the bullet bass jig mold to make swimming jigs for myself. I am trying to do my research before I buy anything. My problem is that there are only 3 hooks offered and I feel all of them are to heavy of wire. I looked at a site called Brovarney baits and saw that they were making their swim jigs with a 28 deg. gamakatsu black nickle hook. Where can I get that hook? If not is the Mustad 32886 30 deg. hook that is avalilable on many websites the next best thing, or will it be to "thick" of a hook? I read where some of you guys buy a regular hook and heat it up and bend it to the 30 angle. How do you do this? Is that the best way to get the hook I need? All replies are greatly appreciated. ______________________________________________________________ 3125gage Oklahoma born and raised
Ogajiga
Like the Brovarney site says, their Gami is a custom and not available to the public unless you can get them to cut some loose. Mustad makes a light wire 28* round bend 32724BLN jig hook in 4/0 & 5/0 sizes. I use the similar 60* 32729BLN in several designs and consider it to have excellent point sharpness and wire strength for a non-forged light wire hook
