willie525
my dad and i are looking at one of these for molding screw jigs. i dont do a lot of shaky head fishing, but my favorite way to fish a beaver is on one of these and once you lose a pack or two of shaky head at 4 bucks a peice it gets kinda expensive. plus i can carry alot of sizes and not break the bank. i saw where Mustad made a hook for it, does anyone know of Owner or Gamakatsu makes one, if not the mustad is ok with it? also is there anything i sould watch out for on it; ive never tried molding with a corkscrew type thing Thanks Willie525
Basseducer
Willie, The screw locks that Do-It has are made for their mold and work quite well. I've made hundreds of these with no problems. Gamakatsu has one thats 60 degree with a flat eye (G614), but I haven't tried it yet. rr316
The gammie hook is a good hook, but I have no problem with the Mustad, imho the Gammie is sharper out of the package but the Mustad's tip wont roll making it more durable, it also lends itself to easier filing. If I was creating a flipping jig or something I was using with heavier equipment I would go Gammie or Owner all the way but Mustad is a good hook for finesse applications where you generally don't have to worry about them bending out!
