ron g Posted February 15, 2008 Report Share Posted February 15, 2008 I have used braids for years and the knot that has never failed on me is the Uni Knot.I also do not use super glue on them ever.It is important to make a minimum of seven wraps though,otherwise it may try to slip. Spike-A-Pike Posted February 17, 2008 Report Share Posted February 17, 2008 Phil. That Grinner Knot video was great and since I think I'm a fast study with ropes and knots, I gave it a try. I think it will work very well for tying one swivles and spinners, but I have snelling hooks too many years to stop tying on hooks that way. Thanks for the lesson. I got to be 8 times bass master, all time 10th Jindabyne trout pro and all time loser with what I call the "Will Knot", don't know its real name but it all ways slips on braid, so I use super glue too. A double san diego jam (doubled line through hook eye like a palomar) properly tied is a 100% knot. Don't think the standard jam is though. Fish_N_Fool Posted March 8, 2008 Report Share Posted March 8, 2008 My favorite for braid is what I call the Fish-N-Fool Knot one I developed myself. Its a modified uni knot. It works great for braid, floro if you wet it good and are careful cinching it down, and excellent for mono too. It tested 100% knot strengh on a pull tester with all 3 types of lines.
