Fluid bed problems

Recommended Posts

I've built a fluid bed and I am having a few problems. I used the lunch bags as my membrane for my cups and it seemed to do fair with the black paint but the brown would not fluff up right. Also how do you attach the membrane to the cup, be it the paper, pillow case or coffee filter. My air source is the aquarium bump with the two outlets.

Thanks

Jack

I've heard from other fluid bed users, that a coffee filter works good too, like using the paper.

I attach using Elmers Glue-All. Another way I read about on here is to take a test cap and remove the "inner part" leaving only the flange. Cut your circle of paper, position over your cup, put "flange cap" on and press in, cut off excess paper.

I use 3" PVC couplings and glued the base to a light piece of particle board with my air connection drilled into the bottom of that below the center....

Then just cup a coffee filter over a piece of 3" PVC and push down into the coupling....add powder and your good to go...

I've got 5 made up and all work with no problems...if it has set up a while I just turn my air on and stir a little to get it flowing better...
