Im looking for a repalcement for that piece of Hewlett Packard that is toast.
A few questions to the other web designers out here.
What type of camera are you using?
Pro's/Cons?
Mine was chewing up batteries like you wouldnt believe. But took fine pictures. (macro's were not bad, but not great either)
I am looking for somthing that is at least 2 MP without costing a arm and a leg.
Anyone have the TOSHIBA PDR-2300? by all accounts it should be a fair camera. Just wondering before I lay out the cash.

Hi Jeff, I have a TOSHIBA PDR M-4 That has been an excellent camera, My problem was I wasn't using the MACRO thing the right way to get good clear pictures. TOSHIBA has got some good camera's out there. The one your speaking of probably is a better one then mine because it's a newer model.
Mine came with a 8MB smart media card, I replaced it with a 128MB smart card and I can get about 130 to 150 pictures on it. In fact I don't believe I've filled the card yet, The battery usually goes dead first. But then you can ether recharge the battery or plug it into a wall socket and keep shooting. It's great for Family get togethers. I use the image Expert to dump them into the computer, that works great. The CD comes with the TOSHIBA camera. #3Posted 09 December 2003 - 02:11 PM
I have both a Sony Mavica and a Kodak EasyShare CX4230.
The Mavica is a great camera. It allows you to record the pics on a floppy disk and any kind of software opens it. You can also take 15 second MPEGs. The kodak on the other hand only has an on-board memory that is limited but you can buy a memory stick. It comes with a rechargeable battery but you can use AAs. It is smaller and fits well in a tackle bag. Both are 2 megapix. #4Posted 09 December 2003 - 05:06 PM
I use a sony mavica also, the floppy disc storage is great & easy to use.
Only downside is that its a larger camera & has no viewfinder (LCD only) I have seen a new camera made by olympus that is water resistant, perfect for boating & fishy hands. Almost all cameras are now 2 megapixels or better. #5Posted 09 December 2003 - 05:11 PM
Hey Jeff,
I use a Sony Cybershot P-71 3.2 MP and I love it. You can get a super close clear shot, and it also offers streaming video. I first bought the P-51 model and found out it didn't have a macro lense (which is crucial in our line of business), so I traded it in and got the upgraded version. I believe you can get a camera in the 2 to 3 MP range with a macro lense for around 300 bucks. Chris #6Posted 09 December 2003 - 05:25 PM
Yeah the cybershot is a good size too, not too big, not too small. My folks have one & like it. it uses a sony smart card (removable)
