Hi there, just courious if anyone is icefishing yet?? The lakes are froze over here but no one is going out yet. I suppose right now everyone is pouring plastics, carving baits, tying flies or bucktails and just waiting for the lakes to be safe. I mainly fish for Walleye through the ice. Well have a great day and I hope to get a few replies. Thank you Ken Schmitz

Ken, I just came in from a great day of ice fishing. We have been on the ice for about a month already. I have enjoyed some good Eastern Brook Trout fishing earlier in the month.
I kept one nice mint silver Rainbow Trout today, and released several large ones (3-4 lbs ) . All caught on Big Splash hand poured plastics! It was a day to try out some of the new plastic designs, and I was pleased with the day's catch to say the least. #8Posted 21 December 2003 - 09:12 PM
Man Ken, its cold down here... no joke
We had a freeze warning & had to bring the tropical plants in. I'm sure the citrus farmers were stoking the orange groves with bonfires last night. Ive never had the opportunity to icefish, but after seeing some of the coolest ice huts, all decked out w/ heaters & plush seating, makes me wanna give it a go sometime. Someone hook me up with a hut that has TV & a ballgame & I'd never leave #9Posted 21 December 2003 - 09:17 PM
Jerry, I thought you were going to tell me the only ice you had was in your holiday beverages. You would really enjoy ice fishing in my brothers portable ice shanty on wheels. It is 7 x 10 foot. It has a pull down bunk if you need to nap. It has a 12 volt TV, a gas stove and a CB to keep in touch with the other fisherman. The inside is insulated with spray on foam about 6 inches thick. You could almost heat the shanty with a candle. Hey Big Splash, way to go, sounds like your having a blast ice fishing. The lakes aren't safe here yet. Maybe a few of the small ones but not many people are going out yet. Ken Schmitz
