Years ago I had some molds and two chemicals that I mixed, poured in to molds and they expaned, cured and made a foam mold. Since moving I cannot find these or where I got them from. Anyone know what I am talking about and any sources?

:o

Thanks,

Try this link:
Foams: Rigid and Flexible Foams from Smooth-On

That's just one source, I think there is a suppliers list someplace on this (TU) site.

Hagen's has some foam that you can buy to make lures.

Hilts made plastic molds for poppers and plugs that used a two-part expanding foam....the foam is available from a couple of sources, Alumilite is one....they all but disappeared. I got a set of the size 8 popper molds on eBay a couple of years ago and recently tried casting and it works great but now it would be easier to make a silicone mold to copy about any shape in either foam or resin you would want. The plug molds came with a jig to bend wire for the internal wire form and eyelets in the finished mold. I have been unable to find any reference to these products on the internet, ever....Jann's Netcraft used to sell the kit for $29.95 or so as I recall, someone with an older paper catalog might find more info.

I still have the large popper mold. The mold worked great but I haven't seen them for sale in a long time.

The mold I have has 4 cavities and uses a sz.2 poppper hook. Makes a good bass popper.
