New Gear Motor Setup Help?

Recommended Posts

Well, my jury-rigged motor had died, and I finally found a good deal on a new Dayton gear motor. I don't need any gear reduction, as rpm is allready appropriate. But how do I attatch the lure holder contraption to the motor's shaft? I found the following:

Power Transmission / Couplings and Collars

but, none still look like what I need. The shaft collars are a start perhaps, but they seem to just leaveme with a bigger round shaft. Do they make some type of flange that attaches to the shaft and then can screw in several places to a board?

thanks!

Thanks for your help guys ! found what I needed! Dan's sugguestion of a pipe flange led me on searches that gave me the term bushings, and that was what I was apparently missing.

This is called a quick detatchable bushing:

It fits the shaft of the motor, including key, and uses a set screw. Then I can screw the flange part to the end board of my new turner (yet to be built as I'm redesigning it, thus the lack of pics)

Thanks so much! I hope this helps someone else if they get a gear motor off ebay...
