You need to find a jig that you have confidence in, then use those materials to create your own. I primarily fish Assalt Jigs. They are a combination of Living Rubber and Silicone. I just made some silicone/rubber skirts due to the fact that I did not have any solid black silicone. I am really impressed with how the two blend together. I will find out tommorow how well they do The weather man is calling for lows in the mid 50's and highs in the 70's! I may not catch many fish but it should be a pleasant day on the lake. I like to use the rubber because it is cheaper and the colors arent as harsh as some of the silicones. Because it is cheaper i can use more of it to make thicker skirts and in my opinion it is more buoyant and has more flair than the silicones. I would like to locate a source for a lighter coor blue rubber material. About the same color of blue highlight as found on a box of STREN ORIGINAL CLEAR BLUE monofilament.
