Finally gave it a shot

Recommended Posts

Ok all, first thank you for the vast information that made my first attempt a lot easier than it would have been. This was my first attempt at a handcarved swimbait. The paint scheme did not come out as well as I wanted but I got in a hurry so its my own fault.

I am trying the PVC now to compare.

Anyways, here she is...my first little "Gill"

Great job, what are the fins and tail made of?

Thanks guys. I have not done a video clip yet...snows holdin me up. I carved this one out of poplar and used a dremel and razor knife for the gill plate and details after I cut the basic shape with the band saw.

The tail and fin is actually a high end paintbrush/nylon bristles. I could not find any fibbets locally.
