Casting a crankbait

3 posts in this topic

Several years ago, a co-worker made replicas of model car engines, etc. using a flexible mold and poured the replica with some type of epoxy or resin. The result was a rigid, paintable product.

Can anyone suggest brand name of similar products? I was thinking this might be a possible process to "mold" crankbaits or swimbaits.

Thanks for any guidance you can offer.

Do a search on "mold" and related terms and you'll turn up a number of threads on the subject. Also check the Forum/Knowledge Base/Member Submitted Tutorials for several good tutorials on the subject. Enjoy.

After I posted this, I saw several posts on Feather Lite. That seems to be exactly what I'm looking for. I reviewed their website and they profiled a tackle builder that uses one of their other products to mix with the Feather Lite to add weight.
