That is an excellent presentation rock and a really nice muskie. Any ideas where I can get my hands on some relatively inexpensive aluminum stock? I am in northern MN. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

@ rock

Great tutorial , thanks a lot !

Being a metal worker , I have made some football jighead molds just the same way , that you have described .

But instead of modelling clay I have utilized beeswax for checking the proceedial of the cavities .

But the trick with the pencil and steelwool is new to me , thanks a lot again :)!

PS : Nice musky you've got there , that's what all the tinkering is about:yes::) !

Greg,
I bought my aluminum from Metal Express.

Follow this link:Metal Express - Catalog - Category List - Aluminum

They have a plant close to me in Waukesha, so I was able to go pick up my order. They will ship to you and the price was very reasonable. My blanks were 2" x 6" x 5/8" thick.

Good luck!

Machinists sometimes use silly putty to check their mold carving progress.

Hello from Spain

My name is carlos and I'm from Spain.

Excellent tutorial on how to make an aluminum mold.

But I wanted to know how to adapt jig shad head of 4/0 to 7/0?

Thanks for the reply and greetings
