How are teardrop ice jigs made???

The type of sodder you use will effect the weight of the bait and the type of flux needed.

Been making them for years, rosin core is the easy way.

But requires lots of cleaning before painting.

I have even done them with silver sodder.

You must use the correct hooks for the type of sodder you wish to use.

Gold plated ones are the easiest.

You must wash all flux off before trying to paint then.

I use an air brush and do 100's at a time.

Then final coat in epoxy, lasts for ever.

Rust has never been a factor.

If you got rust you did some thing incorrect, maybe?

The ant and glow bodys are cast on bronze hooks.

Most cast ones have ethier 90% or crimped shank hooks to hold them together.

You do not want to use acid core this will wreck the finish and cause rust after use.
