Thinning Createx

Recommended Posts

Hi to all. This is my first post so be gentle!!! Would I have to thin createx transparent paints to shoot with a .2mm nozzle? would I be better with a bigger nozzle? say .3mm. Can createx be thinned with just water or are the additives essential? I'm doing large jerkbaits with all the usual patterns and have until recently, been using spray cans and stencils. Any infomation would be brilliant folks.

I'm shooting Createx through a .2MM nozzle and shoot it straight out of the bottle probably 95% of the time. It seems that every once in a while I'll have to thin it and I do this with water. It's hard to describe exactly how much to thin it, but most everyone has recommended thinning it to the consistency of milk. You can accomplish this by watching how it drips off a tongue depressor or stir stick. Hope this helps.

I keep an old dish soap bottle on my bench for thinning paint I fill it up with water and add a drop of dish soap. It seems the little bit of soap helps I have also heard of people thinning with alcohol/water to speed drying time but I have yet to try it. I used to use rattle cans too and still do for some things

I found that by mixing createx silver pearlized with folk art silver gives a better silver color the same or better than a can I also do the same with gold it just seems that the createx silver is to white

Good luck

George
