Recommended Posts

ive been making some swimbaits latley, but the resin material is too heavy. is there any way to lighten up the material with miro bubbles or something so the material doesnt sink so fast

use the search engine you will find tons on info on this subject. to answer your ? yes you want to use microballoons I use a 1 to 1 ratio. it will give you plenty of strength and all the bouyentcy you will need..

A cheap trick to make resin more light is to use microbubbles and to add, inside the mold, a lot of polyurethane foam.

It will help you to make your lure lighter and to play around to get more easily a suspended lure (obviously adding some lead 'till you get what you desire).

Hope this will help you.

anybody out there grind up the foam in a coffee grinder or spice mill and add that to the resin instead of the micro balloons? might work...

KCK- Try drilling some holes along the top to add buoyancy, fill the holes with foam or PVC plugs and epoxy, this way you won't need to add ballast.Pete
