What size wire would be best suited for making wire weed guards on a modiied snootie jig mold in 1/8 and 3/16oz sizes. Jig Man Posted June 20, 2010 Report Share Posted June 20, 2010 Like smalljaw suggested 90# braided stainless vinyl coated leader. I use it all the time for weedguard. I never use it doubled though. I get it from BPS in 30' lenghts for $4.99 each. The ship it in from one of their stores that has salt water stuff and I pick it up with no shipping fees. I just got 2 spools this week.
