Hi Members:I would appreciate any members feedback on tying with the products Hula Wrap or Baitfish Emulator Flash.

Why don't you post a picture or two - I'm not familiar with the products you mentioned, but a lot of tying materials are sold under various names, and somebody here probably uses similar stuff.

Peterjay:Sorry I don't have any pictures but if you do a google search it will come right up.It states--Hula Wrap:Is a very wide mylar that comes in spools that is a mix of holographic and clear fibers that are stiched into a very wide chenille.Fibers are 2" long. Baitfish Emulator:This is a mix of texturize mylar with a treated edge for winding comes in 2" & 5" sizes.It appears you palmer wrap these products on your fly or jig.

I suppose the stuff could be wrapped to make something like a Gartside soft hackle fly. I bought something similar a while back but I haven't found it to be particularly useful. I made a few crab flies by palmering and trimming it to shape, but that's about it. If you're tying small streamers, etc., you could use it as an underwing or blend it, but there's already plenty of stuff around that'll do the same job. It's basically flashy artificial hackle.
