BobP
Epoxy will protect the paint but has a tendency to fill in small 3D features and you need to rotate the jigs until it begins to harden. I've used moisture cured polyurethane on lead and metal baits over acrylic paint and it works nice - dip them and hang them up to dry, nice thin coating but durable after about a week when the moisture cure has progressed. Not sure there is anything that will really protect jigs heavier than about 1/2 oz though - just too much banging for anything except a cured powder paint to last 100%. BobP
Yeah, the original Dick Nite moisture cured polyurethane is no longer available due supplier problems. DN is reformulating his topcoat and will shortly begin selling a topcoat with a different formulation. Since he uses the topcoat on his own line of spoons, I'm hopeful that the new stuff will be a great product - but time and some testing by users will be the acid test.
