What should I look for in a heat gun? Any suggestions on which one to get?

Variable heat ranges and a High/Low speed selector would be my thoughts, works well for me.

Does it get hot enough to melt powder paint?
Your jigs got oohs and aahs at the lake today.

Yes Mark, that is all I use to heat my jigs up so I can powder paint them. Also the heat will get hot enough to melt the lead off of a jig head so you have to be careful if you use it on higher setting.

I have a cheap heat gun from the local Harbor Freifght Tools store that has served me well. It has a high and low setting and was around 10 bucks.

I have the Harbor Freight heat gun also, been using a little over a year with no problems.
