Repaint Eyes

Recommended Posts

It's just whatever looks right. On cranks with inset 3D eyes, I usually replace them with new eyes. On cranks with non-standard 3D eyes, you can often pry them out and re-glue them when finished painting, before applying the topcoat. But I also don't mind painted eyes where it looks right. It depends on how you think the eyes attract or repel bites. I'm not a fan of big flashy eyes on baits, so that tempers how I approach it. When I replace 3D eyes, it's often with eyes that have less color contrast with the bait's new color scheme.
