Anyone Use Thermal Paint Before?

Recommended Posts

I purchased some thermal paint just to play around with. I painted a DT-10 solid red and mixed the thermal paint in my clear. It came out cool, looks black when cold, red when warm. I know the temp in water varies everywhere but thought maybe at deep water where it is cooler and colors fade out anyways I could get my lure to turn black for a better silhouette.

I was wondering if anyone here has every played around with this stuff or have any good ideas of how to use it.

I tossed the lure in my pond, solid black. I definitely don't have any water around me that is warm enough to make the black turn clear. I just slapped it on my lure before giving it much thought about what temp it changed at. I thought it was worth a try.
