Clear Coat For Display Only

Recommended Posts

Hey guys I am making some lures for gifts for co-workers that have our company logo on them. I am looking for the easiest and best looking top coat when water resistance and durability is not an issue. I am painting with createx.

Thanks in advance !

I finish my model airplanes with Future (Pledge with Future Shine) only. For a crankbait, I would do two dip coats. This isn't the shiniest clear coat, but looks great and doesn't distort the color much at all, much less. If they are going to be handled much, I wouldn't suggest this route.

Try Target Coatings' super clear interior urethane, SC9000.

It will hold up to handling, and does not diminish the paint scheme at all.

I use it for my bass lures, and it holds up fine for that, even though it's labeled interior.

I thin down duplacolor clearcoat from o'rielys and spray several thin coats then the last coat kind of heavy but not to heavy to where it runs but you have to do it with in a hour in low humidity and let it cure for a week it makes almost any paint job look good and it's pretty tough too
