Just Wanted To Say Thanks

Recommended Posts

I just wanted to say thanks to everyone for sharing their ideas and experience. Without this website i would have gave up on creating my own baits, and my fiancee would think i was almost normal. I have attached a couple photos, opinions would be appreciated!B)

they are running for the most part strait as an arrow i would say one out of 10 i just cant seem to get tuned 100% but they are still very fishable. I am not sure why but the double line tie lips seem to be harder to tune. anyone else tried this.

Never tried this either, BUT my guess is if the lure is weighted-- the position of the weight (ballast) will probably work better for one or the other of the ties, but will not be perfect for both - so maybe it (weight) needed to be moved/tuned before you painted etc to get a happy medium.

Also, you have very little wire sticking out above the lip. This looks very neat, but you have left nothing for sideways tuning. Your lip alignment and hole drilling will have to be perfect for the bait to run straight. But this has nothing to do with the two eye arrangement.

Nice bait.

Three things.

1. Those are good looking baits. They will catch fish.

2. On the ones that don't run straight. If they go wonky and then come back on line put them in seperate box and fish those when conditions get tough. No kidding. That's called hunting, and its rare to get one that does it, but a crankbait that hunts will save your bacon on a really tough day.

3. I forget what three was.
