I finally had an almost decent day fishing this past Memorial Day after a dismal start to the year.

I hit a new stretch of water 3 hours north of my house and kayak fished 11 miles. The bikini hatch was out in full force and the weather was nice and hot. The water was slightly stained and warm

I caught around 25 smallies with the biggest being 17".

You may be asking yourself "what the $#@% does that have to do with the soft plastic forum?"
Well...nothing other than every fish I caught came off of my homemade plastics and jigs.

There's nothing like stickin' a bass on a bait you make yourself.

Preachin' to the choir I'm sure, but to float a river I've never seen, share it with at least another 60 boats, and still catch enough bass on baits that came out of my shop to make it worth the 3 hour ride...PRICELESS

I feel the same way you do. I just started pouring last fall. I have caught a ton of fish since ice out this year and every one I have caught on plastic has been one I poured. I am being stubborn and not using store bought baits at all, but that might change come tournament season later this month. lol

Yesterday I caught a decent smallmouth on a bait that I concocted. A mix of two baits that I merged and made a RTV mold for. First smallie ever on it! I think I'll keep throwing it ;)
