Can you "dye" cork? If so, with what and would you "clear" it? I was thinking that it would be neat to dye the cork different colors. Probably would soak it up a bit but would it rub off?

Cork does not take stain. That's one of the things that make it popular as a grip material. Anything you do will be a surface treatment only.
