Missing Topics, Dead Links And Lost Pics, Oh My!

Everytime I turn around and try to follow a link somewhere, whether it be a link back to TU or elsewhere, comes up dead. I see all these people talking about something I want to learn about, find a link in the post and its dead! What gives? Are there no archives? Are these topics being deleted?
