Norman made a bait similar to the Zara Spook several years ago and I can't remember the name of it. It was shorter than the original Spook, but was about the same diameter. It had a "walk the dog" action also like the Spook. I can't for the life of me remember the name of this bait. Does anyone remember the bait and what it was called?

thanks guys,
Ben

Nope, not the Zara Puppy. This bait was built by Norman Lures.

Not those either Hillbilly. Apparently this bait didn't go over very well, because it didn't seem to stay around long. Can't understand that either as I had really good luck with it. Sent an email to Norman a couple days ago. Still haven't heard anything from them. Will let ya'll know if I do.

How about Carrot Top or Carrot Stick.
This came to me last night and I don't have an old catalog to confirm it.

I don't remember the Rat-lur name, but that's the bait Gbass. Matter of fact, the bait in the first photo is the exact same one I used to kill them with on Toledo Bend. They were suckers for it on the upper end of the lake when the better fish were chasing big shad.

thanks for the help,
Ben

I found out why the name Rat-Lur was unfamiliar to me. It was called the ZZ Top when I was using them. The band of the same name forced Norman to rename the bait and that's when it became the Rat-Lur. Not sure how long after the name change before it was discontinued.

Just FYI, the "Carrot Top" was made by Smithwick, and are quite collectible nowadays.

You are correct ... I remebered it a few days after I made the entry.
