What type of file is this? I can't seem to open it. Thank you!

You can open it with openoffice.org. Open Office is a word program that's available for free download on the web. If you don't have it, and don't want to download it, holler back and I will try to convert it to a Microsoft Word file for you.

Very very nice tutorial. The one thing I would add is that aluminum likes lubricant when drilling and cutting. A drop of Tap Magic (for all metals version) or little more liberal shot of WD-40 on each drill pount will result in better cleaner cuts. Not perfect, but an order of magnitude better. It will also cut easier, and your drill bits will last longer.

Thanks Gene for the very informative tutorial. I made one with 5/16 holes and your ideas were very helpful. The galvanized nail idea was right on. I am in my 3rd week making wooden crankbaits and finally got a couple painted. Wow, what a learning curve. Thanks for your help!!
