Hi, my name is Marty, I'm out of Horseheads, NY, 55YO, been doing something to lures since I was 12YO, I've bent wire for spinners, tied flies, painted plugs, poured lead ( I swear lead is going to be the next silver and gold )...., was just a "general" fisherman who always thought he could improve on something with the addition of a spinner, feather or a dab of paint ( @ 12YO ALL my Rapalas had painted gills & red dot A**'s ) 2 days ago I landed here looking for DIY plans on building your own fluid beds, met "cadman" & I haven't left yet, I have since then seen "Michelangelo" painters, learned about decals, learned about powder paint ( yes & fluid beds THANKS CADMAN ), powder spray guns & probably saved myself 5 years of making mistakes just by reading some GREAT forums.........Just wanted to say THANK YOU in advance for ALL the information I will glean from you all. My newest hobby is trolling for trout on the Finger Lakes of New York ( thats the BIG FAT part of New York, North of the city ) everybody here swears by Michigan Stinger spoons, but don't like how the paint jobs hold up after a few uses ENTER POWDER PAINT !!!! & the thirst of knowledge ;) ................ Hmmmmmmmm decals & flutter spoons, squid skirts & spinner blades
THANKS AGAIN !,
Marty Brown

Welcome to TU Marty. You couldn't have landed at a better spot to learn about lure building. I've been here a little over two years now and am still amazed at the vast wealth of information and the willingness of everyone to share their knowledge.
