Sorry for the loss of a very nice guy
I had talked to Don a few times about his little Hot Rod baits and that I loved the design. He was very nice indeed and one friend on my friends list that will be truly missed. My prayers go out to his family!!

Don was indeed a nice guy. I had the opportunity to meet him at Nathan's. I also swapped lures with him a couple of times.
Don, for those of you who never met him, is pictured below along with some of his lures. His original "signature" lure is the top one.
God bless and may he rest in peace.

PLease give my condolences to his wife.
Where ever he is now, I hope there are crank fish.

I do not know Don but I have not forgotten his lure since Gene showed me one. His work is beautiful and will live on. I have wondered more than once since that day what possessed Don to carve out the lure body the way he did. More than once I have thought I had it . I am certain the ideas he left will too live on through others.
May he rest in peace.

I didn't know Don, but hate to see someone with such innovative ideas pass on. Please pass my condolences along to his friends and family.

Don's "hole in the side" crankbait is really unique...You can see it but there is a small blade in that hole that moved and flashed..Nathan

So sorry to hear this news. I hope that Don's creativity and dedication to craft will continue to inspire lure builders who visit TU. My condolences to his close ones.
