Big Bass Man 88 Report post Posted December 4, 2011 Sorry for the loss of a very nice guy I had talked to Don a few times about his little Hot Rod baits and that I loved the design. He was very nice indeed and one friend on my friends list that will be truly missed. My prayers go out to his family!! Patrick
Lincoya 39 Report post Posted December 4, 2011 Don was indeed a nice guy. I had the opportunity to meet him at Nathan's. I also swapped lures with him a couple of times. Don, for those of you who never met him, is pictured below along with some of his lures. His original "signature" lure is the top one. God bless and may he rest in peace. littleriver 76 Report post Posted December 5, 2011 I do not know Don but I have not forgotten his lure since Gene showed me one. His work is beautiful and will live on. I have wondered more than once since that day what possessed Don to carve out the lure body the way he did. More than once I have thought I had it . I am certain the ideas he left will too live on through others. May he rest in peace.

Nathan 222 Report post Posted December 5, 2011 Don's "hole in the side" crankbait is really unique...You can see it but there is a small blade in that hole that moved and flashed..Nathan
