Firechief
I was considering the purchase of a Nova Comet II mini lathe to turn out some stick baits and poppers. I have seen the aforementioned lathe on the web but not sure if it is a quality tool. Maybe some of the members from down under has an opinion on Teknatools and their quality of product since they are in that part of the world Any help is appreciated
Lincoya
Firechief, I own a Mercury mini lathe made by Technatools. When I got it for Christmas a few years ago I had problems with the motor not wanting to run at temperatures below 45-degrees. I called Technatools and explained the problem. They sent me a new motor and that solved my problem. My Mercury is very well built out of heavy, cast steel. I did order the bed extension for mine to give me an additional 15 inches of bed length. Other than the original motor problem, I have not had any other issues with it. Bottom line: I would not hesitate to buy another one.
