Im making white cedear top water lures and have u orig. createx paints and looking at switching to wicked paint. Im using EX-74 as a clear coat. The reason im switching is i have had problems with the original createx paint peeling off the bait with the clear coat. any help would be great

Sounds like you need to switch either your top coat or the way you apply it. If water is getting to the paint it's not the fault of the paint.

Googling "EX-74", it appears to be a decoupage/bar top epoxy similar to Envirotex Lite. If so, it think the best solution is to use multiple coats of the clearcoat to build up a topcoat that will be harder to penetrate. Some of the most beautiful musky baits are made with many (4-5?) coats of this type of epoxy.

Get some Bulldog adhesion promotor & shoot your bait with that before you prime or paint. It does wonders.

sounds like the createx not biting or its not dried before clear

I had the same problem and it still comes and goes, if I get in a hurry and dont dry over night before painting I think it gets water trapped unde and the clear coat draws it out making it look like it peels. Hope it helps still using org createx myself but looking at tring some auto air.
