What is the best thing to do with all the powder paint misruns? Just remelt the heads and do it again? Any way to easily remove the powder paint? I was told gasket remover works and currently trying that but it is not going so well. It removes some but makes it sticky and will not get the majority of it off.

I've used "Parks" paint remover, and it works just fine. Dip the jigs in th remover, wait a day and take it out and your all done..

I just reheat them and take a rag and wipe it off. The majority will come off, then paint again. Are talking one jig or what?

I have used paint remover, and that works well. However, I have a question - after using paint remover, should I wash the jigs with anything before I re-coat the jig? It seems almost like there is a residue on the jig that probably should be removed. I was thinking of washing with dishwashing liquid and a brush.

Pete, I do exactly that. After the paint is stripped off, I use "Dawn" dishwashing liquid and use a brush on the jigs. I use Dawn because it cuts through grease better than anything else I've used. I then dry the jigs with a towel and put in a toaster oven on 350 degrees fo r20 minutes to get all of the water out.

Thanks Cadman! I have stripped a bunch of jigs, but I have not tried recoating them yet. I was concerned about the effects of any residue from the paint stripper.
