Thinning paint

Recommended Posts

I have a Paasche VL and I have a question about paint thinning.

I am using water based acrylic. If you want to paint very fine lines

and very small dots, does the paint also have to be thinner than

it normally would???

I have noticed that when I start trying to get finer lines the paint

will not come out until I adjust the needle for more paint and of course

then its too much.

Thanks,

Coley

I am not sure that I am giving you the right answer. But, I know that to paint a pencil type line that the needle is backed out of the tip and the gun is placed really close to the piece. Say an inch or less. You might try a #1 tip. Start shooting the paint before the edge of the piece and move quickly. You will have to play with the trigger to learn to get that air and paint right. This is what Testors has on their web site. Hughsey would be the best to answer this one. He has probably forgotten more about painting than all of us combined know.
