We are headed for a Canadian trip and hoping you guys can clue me in to the best places to buy Walleye & Pike Tackle. I am making our jigs but need to buy the rest. BTW, are any soft plastics good to use up there besides grubs? I have a fair number of molds for plastic baits.

Thanks

What time of the year are you going up?

Drive to or fly in?

3-4-5in grubs and a jig or a dropshot rig would be my first choice for 'eye. Maybe sone 4-5in worms in traditional 'eye colors rather than bass colors.

Pike like walleye jigs too. I have a spool of Sevenstrand 18lb uncoated wire I use to make up leaders with.

Three and four inch swimbaits on an 1/8 or 1/4 oz jig heads work great besides the grubs and bass pro shops has a catalog called "northern angler" that is geared toward walleye nothern muskie and smallmouth bass.
And since your going to canada bring some ZARA SPOOKS for the smallmouth and pike when I go up there I think it is funnest way to catch smallies and pike.
I agree with making your own wire leaders when your up there you should use one all the time the walleyes and bass aint shy and it is needed on the pike. When your up there its not like you can run to walmart to get more lures.
