(green) Char. Lumiflex

Recommended Posts

I really like a char and white spinner bait when made with lumiflex. I ordered my lumiflex a while back and when it came the white was correct. The char. is char. but on the yellow side. The char. that I am looking for has a green tint to it. Anyone know where to buy this shade of char. Thanks for any help you may have. Musky Glenn

The only source of lumaflex I ever saw was livingrubber.com, I have aske real pro sport fishing, Barlows and Janns and nobody could help me but LPO told me there is only 1 or 2 distributors of it and there are only a few colors availble to the public, you can get it made but the amount is ridiculous which is why most places don't have it.

A question for you two guys. Is Lumiflex the same material that the Starflash skirts are made out of ???????

Thanks in advance.

Cadman, it is hard to explain but I will try, but it isn't like the starflash material. It is like a cross between mylar and flashabou, it sort of has that feel to it and the reflective properties of mylar but it is a lot tougher. The best place to see it is to look at musky baits as they use lumaflex in place of bucktail on the big in line spinners. I should also mention that it is more pliable than flashabou or mylar so it does have action in the water.

It is like Spandex and I believe is made by DuPont or was. It has a lot of stretch to it like waist band material. The only way I ever saw it was in a single strand spool and you just double up as many times as you wanted strands in each skirt. Never saw it on Musky lures. Nothing like Flashabou.

I guess it depends on where you live, my neighbor has a bunch of cowgirls with lumaflex skirts. I have 2 spinnerbaits with the stuff on that was given to me and I really wasn't sure what I thought of it, I never though about it but it is stretchy. Musky Glenn, did you look at the lime color? I have lime green silicone that is a shade darker than green chartreuse but it is still very close, perhaps you could get that and if it is too dark you maybe could sun fade it on a window sill or somewhere for awhile, I'm not sure how color fast it is but it may work.

This looks like what I am looking for. Is that lighter than lime? I can't tell. Musky Glenn

That is very close to lime green, it may be a touch lighter than lime green but it looks close. My silicone lime green is very close and the pic on living rubber looks slightly darker but it should still be close enough for you I would think.
