Bone Color Help

Recommended Posts

I am looking for a good Bone Color recipe. Several mentions in the search but I can't find a recipe. I am using C-Tex paints with Iwata Eclipse. Just started making some spooks and like the bone on factory lures. They get bit! Thanks Guys for all your help with the lure building. About ready to put up some pics. Been at it for 2 months.

Dang what a learning curve!

There was a thread about this not too long ago... I think what was mentioned was white with just a tiny bit of brown and/or yellow ochre...

I think this is the thread...

also, try the hardbait cookbook thread stickied at the top of this page... IIRC there are a coupe of recipes for bone there also.

The

The perfect bone is always open to interpretation.

^This. The way I do it is to put some opaque white in a cup then add sunrise yellow a drop or 2 at a time. I have the bone colored bait Im trying to match in front of me. As I mix the yellow in, I dab a little on the bait with my mixing stick. When I cant see the fresh paint on the bait, I know I'm there.

That's a great way to match color!
