Kris
I have a Central Pneumatic 3 gal. compressor from Harbor Freights and I'm using it indoors. Was wondering if there are any good tips / ideas on how to dampen sound made from compressor. I know there is sound dampening material you can buy but looking for ideas that won't cost $50 or more. Thanks.
CNC Molds N Stuff
Heat is an issue so you can't just box it in, but MDF is an amazing sound deadener. Alternatively, the air box is usually the biggest source of noise for a compressor. Plumbing it out outside with a vent hood to prevent drawing water in the rain might help. You should be running a filter drier on the output and draining the tank regularly regardless.
