Lakeland

Recommended Posts

I'm in on this late but...been dealing with Lakeland for years...last year or so things have slowed a bit on getting returns on inquiries.  Particularly on custom stuff and custom delivery times are way slower than in the past.  Zero complaints on service on stock items.  Hang in with them they are good.

They sell to anyone based on minimum order quantity.  Youdon't have to bother about a 637 form as it's a part and not an end product and it's not encumbent upon Lakeland to insure that customers have or file FET, etc.

You need form 637( signed by an I.R.S. agent) if you wish to be excise tax exempt when purchasing wholesale components for your business.

Backdoor manufacturers who sell and fly under the I.R.S. radar screen are in for a big surprise when they get caught not filing quarterly form #720.

Example- (same company w/ 2 divisions)

Capt Hooks is retail

Shorty's hooks is wholesale

I order from Lakeland without Tax ID for years. They charge 10% tax on top of your total. Plus if your order less then minimum qty they charge 1$ per each entry.

I never sent them email. Usually I place my orders by phone  and I've never had any issues with them. Excellent quality and great customer service.
