CNC Molds N Stuff
License your ten year old if fishing in Arizona. TEN YEAR OLDSMUST BE LICENSEDStarting in 2014 August 19th 2013 According to the AZGFD website they have reduced the age in Arizona where a license is required to go fishing to ten (10) years old. This is contrary to most states where the minimum age for requiring a license to go fishing was much higher even than the previous minimum age. Previously the age had been fourteen (14). Even fourteen was lower than many other states who don't require fishing licenses until the age of sixteen (16). For now plan on getting your child a license after January 1st 2014. I have not seen any major public service or public information campaign by AzGFD regarding this specific HUGE change, but I imagine penalties for non-compliance could be severe. This change was implemented as part of a program to simplify and streamline the licenses and fee structure. The fee for a youth license is quite low at only five dollars ($5) for a combination hunt and fish, but it establishes a dangerous precedent in requiring a license for preteens. Our local discussion on the topic can be found here 2014 License Fees for Az, or contact Arizona Game & Fish directly. Please voice your opinion. Fee data comes From the Arizona AZGFD website.http://www.azgfd.gov/eservices/documents/AzLicenseStructureAndFees2014.pdf Edited August 19, 2013 by Bob La Londe
