crc498
I was wondering if anyone had any idea's about making your own fly box. They are getting so expensive these days so I want to make my own. I was looking at types of foam and found neoprene foam looks like it might work. It is a less expensive way but I don't know how long it would take to make anyone have an idea please comment Edited March 8, 2014 by crc498

clemmy
It might depend on the type of flies. I know you can buy ripple foam for fly boxes. One idea I had was to pour rtv into the box, then after it hardens, cut slits for your flies. I remember somewhere seeing spindles that go in a fly box for holding tube flies for sale. Lastly, the thing I was going to try was using weatherstriping foam, if I could find it thin enough. It already has outdoor ready adhesive, and you could just cut to lengt. Laid right next to each other, this would create the slit for hooks as well. Clemmy
