Looking For Missouri Craw Skirt

Recommended Posts

Depends on whose skirt you're looking to match.  Most are a combo of black, pumpkin seed and a little chartreuse/banana seed.  I like to do a half tab of black, 1 1/2 tabs of pumpkin seed barbed wire and then just a little bit of chartreuse maybe 1/4 of a tab.  Adds up to around 45 strands.

Below is a skirt from fishingskirts.com #276 (Missouri Craw) with a matching jig head. You might like this skirt as it's an all in one, instead of putting strands together. Just a thought. There are a lot of interpretations of a Missouri Craw,  some darker and some lighter depends on what appeals to you, and the biggest critic the fish.

I always wondered why they use that name. I have yet to see a craw in Missouri that looks like that. Most are rusty, dk olive, green pumpkin with a bit of orange during mating season.

Not saying the color is ineffective, just chuckle at the name and wonder about what the real color is of an Okachobee Crawdad.
