AJLures.com 1 Report post Posted March 3, 2015 Lately, I have been modifying a couple of mass produced baits, and a few (lots of) people have been asking to buy them from me. Is it legal to resell them on my website alongside my handmade baits without permission?
Skeeter 144 Report post Posted March 3, 2015 I am not a lawyer, but I don't see why not. Let's say you buy a plain shotgun. Then you add a scope and a sling and then sell it from your web site. I don't see that is any different than selling it through an auction site. Skeeter
LandSmalley-Pic-Release 1 Report post Posted March 12, 2015 The only thing I could think of is reading something about it needing to be 19% modified from the original version. What that means exactly, I'm not sure, but remember picking that up reading about reselling modified baits/lures.
smallmouthaholic 209 Report post Posted March 14, 2015 (edited) Utility and design patents are tricky.Consult a trademark and patent attorney. They will cost money but so will a patent infringement suit- especially from a" deep pockets" manufacturer. TU is not the place to obtain accurate ,legal advice-in most cases Edited for spelling Edited March 14, 2015 by smallmouthaholic
