Where To Buy Plastic

Recommended Posts

Hello, I am just getting into making my own soft plastics, and was wondering what plastisol is the best for the buck. I don't want to spend a lot of money, but am looking for a place that sells good quality stuff in quarts or pints. I have never used new out of the bottle stuff, so i don't exactly know what to look for regarding quality. I plan on making bass baits and i also don't know what hardness i need. Thanks for any recommendations in advance!

Make a search and you will find more on this subject than you mite want to know

+1.  Most members are very, VERY passionate about their brand of plastic.  We had a discussion on this the other day and the best bet is to call a few places and ask for samples.  Find out what works best for YOU and go from there.

Good luck!

M-F is the best and all others Hoover.   :halo:

Seriously, I have used Chemionics, Calhoun, M-F, Pour-A-Sol, Bait Junky's, and a couple others.  Some in gallon plus quantities, some just small samples.  They all work.

I personally like the M-F Soft Sinking for salt stick worms usually fished weightless and the M-F Regular for "almost" everything else, but I have had samples of all the M-F plastics, and they aren't bad.  That being said, your first plastic probably doesn't matter all that much.  If you are like me you will over cook it, under cook it, and generally screw it up the first couple times until you get a good routine and good feel for it.
