Is it possible to put a clear coat over powder paint and lure tape at the same time and have it stay on? I am making some spoons out of some sheet metal slugs that I picked up. I want to powder paint them different colors and put some lure tape eyes and different color strips of tape. What would be the best way to go or should I stick with the paint and tape? Thanks for any help.

You will have no problem clear coating over powder paint and tape. After you have painted, taped and added the eyes, just coat the spoon or lure with Devcon or envirotex or the clear coating of your choice. The clear coat helps protect the tape and will make the eyes, especially 3D eyes, stay on. Here is a spoon type jig and a spoon using 3D eyes and tape with regular eyes.
